Wood Fired Pizza And Beer - Build Your Own Pizza Oven In The Backyard

A good “do-it-yourself” oven kit will contain everything you need to install your wood fired pizza oven.
All you need is some basic handyman skills, a few tools and an "oven kit' that's made from high quality materials that have been designed to be put goether with ease and simplicity.
Every kit comes with detailed plans and comprehensive step-by-step instructions so you can build and install a pizza oven of your very own in your outside entertainment area.
Our knowledgeable staff are on hand to answer any questions about your wood fired pizza oven. We'd be delighted to help.
Getting Started
First you need to select a space for your wood fired pizza oven.  Try to avoid areas with overhanging tree branches or objects that might be damaged by heat or vulnerable to fire.
The foundation should be dug down several feet to ensure that frost cannot damage or warp the base of your oven.
Laying the Foundation
Your wood fired pizza oven’s foundation can be made from most common building materials.  Concrete is standard however you might want to create a particular style or look for your foundation in which case you can use adobe, cob, mortar, rocks or a combination of materials that will give your oven a character all of its own.  The only thing you need to bear in mind is to keep the structure durable and able to withstand heat.
Pouring the Slab
The hearth slab should be stabilised during curing with a wire framework. If you intend, as you should, to have an ash trap, remember to leave an opening for the ashes to drop through.
Building the Hearth
The hearth (oven floor) is made using the refractory firebricks supplied with the wood fired pizza oven D-I-Y kit.The extreme heat in the oven rquires that the oven floor is tough enough to absorb the huge amounts of heat.
It's advisable to draw up the intended hearth layout with paper and pen before starting the building. This ensures accurate measurements when it comes to building the hearth.
Placing the Vault
The dome is layered to provide for maximum heat retention. To create optimum heat retention, the layers comprise a refractory dome (made from fire bricks) which is then insulated by ceramic fibre insulation, then covered by alfoil and chicken wire, with rendering being the final layer.
Using a dome that is prefabricated means an easy installation by comparison to building a dome out of bricks. When compared to fire bricked domes, they are much better at retaining heat.
Letting it Rest
Generally you should leave the oven to settle and dry out for one week before using it to cook.
Then it's time to fire up your oven and your culinary imagination, get your hands dirty (with pizza dough) and you (and your guests) will be in pizza heaven.

What guage wire kit should I get for a VR3 400 watt subwoofer?

along with a 300 watt Autotek amplifier?

Wal-Mart will have a couple cheap wiring kits that will work just fine. 10-12 gauge power wire will work with your amp. But you would be better off with an 8 gauge kit for best performance and in case of future upgrades.
You will need power wire, ground wire, fuse, RCA cables, and some speaker wire. Everything you need will come in a pre-made kit.
