American Racing Rims Warrant Success On The Racing Circuit
American Racing Wheels come from the industry standard company called American Racing Equipment company that has over 50 years of experience in the racing wheel and rim industry. They offer all kinds of wheels for a wide variety of vehicles including SUVs, muscle cars, trucks and other off-road vehicles.
They have more than just wheels and rims. They have a large assortment of accessories including metal signs, poster, stickers, banners, care product, replacement gear, headwear, shirts as well as jackets for men and women. All of this can be found at their online store and at various other outlets.
In the 1950s American Racing Equipment Company was founded by Romeo Palimedes who was a pacemaker in early drag racing. He got together with J. O. Ellison, who was a machine shop owner. He helped to create drag racing wheels for his car. They were me of a revolutionary material called magnesium to have a increased ratio of strength to weight, and his wheels were like no other wheel manufactured at the time. Soon they added Tom Griffith to the mix, who was an engineer ahead of his time in the rest became American racing history.
American Racing Equipment met the needs of the street and hot rod racing sport offering lighter weight, high-tech performance wheels that took the sport to the next level. Over fifty years have passed and with it has come American Racing Wheels and American Racing Rims keeping the tradition alive with high-performance wheels and rims for the amateur, street and professional racer. As well, they also supply customized wheels for passenger vehicles, SUVs, vintage cars and trucks.
American Racing Wheels are also on the cutting-edge of the rising Custom Rims phenomenon that swept the United States during the 1960s and continues to present. They offered innovative creations that included the Americans, 5 Spokes and Torq Thrusts. The Torq Thrust is now considered a classic design with its stylish, tapered, parabolic spoke that is both lightweight and comes with an advanced braking cooling system.
This became the model for high performance wheels with custom rim and wheel enthusiasts. Because it was one of the most famous wheels ever made, it was featured in Hot Rod Magazine in 2005 as one of the vehicle parts that was revolutionary in design and manufacture in the car industry. American Racing Wheels and American Racing Rims were reintroduced into the market in 2002 when, in combination with DuPont, they released a new Teflon coated wheel that came from two years of exclusive partnering with the DuPont company. These new wheels were designed to resist brake dust, tested favorably in NASCAR conditions and were extremely easy to clean. Considered the next step in racing wheels, these have become the hallmark stamp of wheel technology.
With over 1700 employees manufacturing over one hundred crafted, precision alloy wheels, their attention to detail, pride in their work and fulfillment of the original vision which Romeo Palamides brought to the company, it now has state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities and have produced over 3 million dollars in wheels in 2001.
Their designs continue to be classics with series like the ProSeries, Shelby legend and the Dale Earnhardt, Jr. American Racing Chrome Wheels, as part of the American Racing Equipment company, have created 40 original designs and have 18 design patents. While American Racing wheels are know for their drag racing and hot rod roots, they consistently deliver trendsetting, off-road wheels including the Baja & Outlaw wheels as well as custom designs for passenger cars, trucks and SUVs. can I buy spoke wheels for my honda Aero 1100 in red? can I just buy rims in the same size?
do I buy rims in the same size or do I have to buy rims made specifically made for my honda?
The easiest way to get what you want is to have your current wheels powder coated. This is more durable that paint, and shouldn't cost more than a couple hundred dollars. You can have the spokes done differently than the rims too...good luck. I hope this helps.
Giant P-SL1 road wheelset review (Bike Radar)
Giant’s wheels are new this year. They use plain-gauge DT spokes with an odd
configuration for the rear: radial on the drive side. It’s a peculiar decision
that works okay; the drivetrain torque just goes through the hub-shell first.
And straight-pull radial spokes should be easy to replace with the cassette in
place.
Build quality is good. While there are slight high spots on each wheel, the
rear right on the limit of what we’d consider acceptable, they shouldn’t get
worse because the spoke tension consistency is excellent. The rims are
unusually wide, 16mm at the bead seat, so they better suit 25 or 28mm training
tyres at about 100psi than 23mm race tyres at 120psi.
