What drills can I use to break a kids habit of barring his front arm while swinging a bat?
My 8 year old son has a habit of locking his front arm while swinging. Are there any drills that can break that and help teach to keep that front elbow flexible? Thanks.
You can also have him swing next to a fence, forcing him to lead with his elbow so he doesn't hit the fence. My coach had us do this and swing with our lead arm and it helped me a lot.

I missed Chatwoods ML sheet. In 2011, he pitched 142 Innings in 27 games with
a 4.75 ERA. Almost all those innings came as a starter averaging 5.48 innings

seemed to peter out a bit by the end of the season, maybe a youth or
conditioning issue.
If Chatwoods improves on his 2011 season, I'd say Iannetta brought in a haul.
If he could get to 175 innings and average 6 innings/game there would be no
doubt this is a great move. I like that 6 inning/start # because it sets up
the bullpen for success and seems to correlate with winning. That being said I
don't see how it's reasonable to expect White, Pomeranz, and Chatwoods to all
hit 190 innings next year nor would it likely be healthy for them to do so.
They still need a veteran arm to carry some innings and are they going to sign
Millwood?
I would like to hear where the front office thinks they're at with the
rotation for 2012. Looking for the FO answer to .. who they expect to start?
