Porsche GT2

What is this sports car? A USD260,000 Porsche 911, using 516lb ft and 611bhp. The Porsche GT2 RS the quickest 911 ever to get out of the manufacturing facility. Its only purpose seems to be putting every Porsche customizer out of business. Technical specs? The engine is identical to the 997 GT2 (that is no longer produced), but runs different turbo chargers, new intercoolers, new pistons and also a brand new engine control system to run 1.6 bars of boost, over the last vehicles 1.4 bar. Stated overall performance is of the what-the-hell range with 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds, 0-100mph in 6.8 seconds and a Ring lap of 7min 18 seconds.

The chassis is essentially slightly up-rated GT3 RS, and that is a quite reliable base. You will find a few adjustments to fit that turbo application and also for even better response the rear axle has much more solid linkages than the GT3 RS. Aerodynamically, it's really comparable to the 997 GT2, but operates a new splitter, brand new rear diffuser and an extra gurney on the back side. Doesn't sound like very much, but it nearly has as much downforce as the Porsche GT3 RS.

What's it like to drive? Comedy quick. We jumped out of a brand new Porsche Cayman S in to this thing and, at very first, asked ourselves what the fuss was really all about. Getting turbocharged, it doesn't make very much sound and it's so easy to drive at reduced speed, rides so well, that you treat it like any standard Porsche 911. The buckets are identical to the GT3 RS's, the dash is plain 911, there's far less induction sound than you get in the generally aspirated automobiles. It is really all a little disappointing until you open the tap in 3rd and the car drags the horizon onto your forehead.

There is no PDK option, just a robust, short-throw manual transmission. The time clock would have anybody think that a Turbo S is quicker to 62 and also as fast to 100mph, however, as ever, the clock lies. This automobile is different-world quick to the Porsche Turbo S. And of course it is a challenge for the driver. No other turbocharged Porsche 911 comes near to giving the chassis stability that this vehicle does.

You turn, it truly grips, the motor lunges, the front axle grips more, and then the insane traction takes over on the exit of turns. The steering is amazing. Drive it quick, use its potential for a handful of mins and you must back-away just before the figures really get silly. The traction and balance management calibration is a masterstroke: you can use so much of the performance, so much of the time. It's freakishly comfy as well. Sometimes a low speed bump elicits a creak from those back rose-joints, otherwise it rides no more harshly than a Porsche Carrera on sports suspensions.

How does it really compare? It's quicker, more useable and also far cheaper than a 599 GTO. However then it does not really feel as exclusive, is not lathered in as much carbon and is actually almost mute compared to the musical Fandango. Neither the Lamborghini LP670 SV or Bentley Continental GT are as quick or as capable. But once again they both trounce the GT2 RS for sheer drama.

Can a 1985 Toyota Pickup 4X4 straight axle fit on a 1988 Toyota Pickup 4X4?

I dont want a independent axles on my truck cuz its going to have either 38" or 40" Pitbull Rockers on it and it will not be able to push it with a small motor..

yes it will...You will need a plasma cutter and a grinder...This is a very popular swap here in calif...We are lucky to have the Toyota mini trucks to come here first on the boat....You see alot of beat up 4 runnners and mini trucks on the rubicon and fordyce trails...It,s alot of work but well worth it...www.marlincrawler.com will have the kit you need...You,ll have to swap the ring and pinion gears to 5.39 so you can turn the tires....

Fox F34 29 TALAS fork review (Bike Radar)

Decent geometry, tyre choice and frame design developments on 29ers are
letting them push further into aggressive trail use. Up until now one of the
major limiting factors has been finding a suitable fork. Thanks to Fox’s new 34
that’s not true anymore.

The new architecture is based on a 34mm stanchion size – 2mm larger in
diameter than Fox’s usual 26 and 29in trail forks. It’s not just a scale-up of
the existing structure – the brace is lower, squarer and deeper, with large
recessed sections on the front to create an I-beam cross section.

To maximise stiffness Fox are only producing it in a 1.125-1.5in tapered
steerer and QR15 screw-through axle version. You do get to choose between a
fixed-travel 140mm version or the quick-release 110-140mm TALAS version here.
At 2,099g with a steerer cut to the same length it’s 246g heavier than the 32
TALAS 29 we took off. It also costs £110 more. The fixed-travel Float version
saves you £60 and 100g though.

Even the stiffest 29ers tend to chew and maul hard turn-ins, off cambers and
root spreads like a cheap kitchen knife, but the 34 is a proper Sabatier.
